Tithe and Giving as a believer

 

A little thought on Tithe and Giving to the new creation man.

The author of the book of Acts quoted the exact words of Jesus concerning giving that says “ giving brings far greater blessing than receiving “ Acts 20:35b TPT

Act 20:35 I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Giving is a principle in the kingdom of God. Giving as it relates to all things including money. 

Now, the fact is that, you do not give to be blessed under the new covenant, because in Christ you are already blessed. However, anyone who gives actually testifies about the reality of this truth in his or her life , that he or she is truly be blessed of the Lord! 

Your giving is a sure sign that you are indeed blessed by God. So out of your acknowledgement that you are blessed ,you give! 

Hence, failure to give is to say, God hasn't blessed you with anything at all and you are poor. Remember poverty is not just the lack of money but the mindset you carry about yourself and money in general. 

Now, the secret is this, Jesus said, he that has(acknowledges that he has) more will be added unto him but he that does not have(deceived himself that he’s poor and has nothing), even what he has, will be taken away from him. Read (Matt 13:12)😇

So the question is, do you acknowledge that what you have is a blessing from God?

Do you acknowledge the God is your source? 

And do you love the Lord and his work to invest into its growth?? 

Remember,Where your treasure is ,there will your heart be also. (Matt 6:21)

Tithe, givings or whatever you may want to call it, in the new creation is not supposed to be paid like the old testament folks paid under the law, rather to us, it must be borne out of love and understanding, hence we give cheerfully and willingly.

(But you cannot claim you love the lord, your church and the pastor who feeds you spiritual nourishment as well as the great work of the kingdom and yet give nothing from your earnings into it’s advancement)

One of the greatest challenge of our generation now is how to deal with the God of mammon(money). Jesus said you cannot serve two masters. You either love God or money. 

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Now see, 

Luk 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 

We must know that we are just stewards of all that we have now, God owns it all. 

However, let it be known that we are not under a curse if we don’t tithe, rather we aren't being honorable and faithful stewards as sons of God if we don't. And one day we will render account to God on the things he placed into our hands. Selah All things are permissible but not all things are expedient . 

In summary ,don't forget the words of our lord Jesus Christ, IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE ......
