HE (JESUS) IS OUR PEACE-2

HE(JESUS) IS OUR PEACE-2

Why is the gospel the gospel of peace? First we need to understand that, the centrality of the gospel is all about Jesus and what He did to bring salvation to mankind after the fall of man in the garden of Eden.

The Bible makes understand that, through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, all men became sinners and fell short of the glory of God(Gen 3, Rom 3:23).

This means, the divine relationship that existed between God and man had been broken and man begun to dread or shy away from the presence of God due to fear of punishment for their sin(Gen 3:7-10). Not only did man run from God’s presence but also man through the deception of satan had abdicated his dominion and power over into the hands of satan and man had become powerless being literally dead in sin and trespasses(Eph 2:1).

But thanks be to God for Jesus Christ! The scripture makes us understand that, for God so loved the world , that he sent his only begotten Son into the world, to come and pay for the penalty for our sins, thus death through the sufferings on the cross and to reconcile us back to God again(John 3:16-18, 2Cor 5:17–19, Philip 2:8).

Of a truth, the wages of sin is death(Rom 6:23a) and so every man was sentenced to death because of sin. But the good news is that, Jesus came to taste death for every man(Heb 2:9,14-15). That is to say, he took upon himself the judgment for our sins and died in our place(1Cor 15:3, 1John 2:2). Remember Jesus was not a sinner neither was any sin found in him yet he died for our sins. He became the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1John 4:10, 1John 2:2, Gal 1:4), so that we who were once dead in sins and trespasses will be made alive again to God(Eph 2:1, John 10:10b). That we who were once separated from God because of sin, will become reconciled to God again in this beautiful relationship(2Cor 5:19). That we who once were running away from God due to fear of punishment, can now come boldly into his presence with no sense of guilt or condemnation!(Heb 4:16).

What a joy! What a good news! Hallelujah!

So now, he commands us to go into the world and preach this good news to the world, to reconcile all people back to Him. This is the ministry of the New Testament!

“And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God(for men). We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.” For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God through our union with him.”

JUSTIFICATION IN CHRIST

To be justified is simply to be declared just or right. It is a legal term signifying acquittal from any charges or offends that were leveled against someone. Hence to be justified is to be declared righteous in the sight of God.  The Bible makes us understand that, this blessing was bestowed on us through the work of Jesus Christ, “who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” Romans‬ ‭4:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬. Now in plain language “Jesus was handed over to be crucified for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised back to life to prove that he had made us right with God!” Romans‬ ‭4:25‬ ‭TPT‬‬.  So you see, Jesus’s main work on earth was to make us right with God! He came to break the barrier of sin that separated us from God and to establish a new relationship between us and the father, on his account,  not on ours! This this the big deal. And He truly finished it.  “One man’s(Adam’s) disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also o

The Gospel of Grace

*The Gospel is also called the Grace of Christ(Gal 1:6). * *You know what, because all that Jesus did for us on the cross can be encapsulated into just one word GRACE! * *Now do yourself some good, by giving yourself some grace too.* JESUS DIED FOR YOU. ©️Aps Clem
