To a vast majority of people living on earth today, one thing that scares them most, is the thought 💭 of death ☠️💀. The fact that one day they will die and be no more on the surface of this earth is something that brings fear into the hearts of many. However, there is also another sect of people who live like though they would never die from this earth. But you see, no matter how hard we try to ignore this reality, the truth still remains that, one day it will catch up with everyone of us, if the Lord tarries and the World hasn’t come to an end yet. If you consider all the mighty men and women who once walked on the surface of this earth but today are no more today, then it must humble you to know that, you equally aren’t going be here forever.
One humbling thing about death is the fact that, no one knows the day they will die; the date, time, hour, minute and seconds that everyone will exit this world 🌎 still remains a mystery to us all till date. Someone once said, “we must live our lives as though we will die tomorrow and we must also live as though we will never die”. Selah
No wonder the great man of God in the Old Testament, Moses prayed to God with these very words “*So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalms 90:12”*. Certainly the knowledge of the reality of death should cause every wise person living under the sun ☀️, to seek the face of God and to humbly incline their heart to walk in the wisdom of God all the days of their life on earth 🌍.
You see, no matter how prideful mankind becomes, how technologically and scientifically advanced we get, how much worldly power we wield and how famous we become, the fact still remains that, none of us can live immortally in this mortal flesh, hence, we shall all exit this world one day. The technology to eternal life and immortality has not been given to any mortal man 👨on earth, except for that one man, whom I proclaim with all my life, the Lord Jesus Christ. And He is the focus of this message. I tell you the truth, if there is anything more the world is still searching for in terms of scientific research, technological advancements and so on , then it is how to create life and live immortally on this earth.
But Interestingly, the ultimate solution to what the world is still looking for all these years lies right here in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Upon all our scientific research and technological advancements, It still takes the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to give every man eternal life and the hope of immortality with God hereafter. Apostle Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believe...(Romans 1:16 KJV). In 2Tim 1:10 He said “[It is that purpose and grace] which He now has made known and has fully disclosed and made real [to us] through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, Who annulled death and made it of no effect and brought life and immortality (immunity from eternal death) to light through the Gospel.”(AMPC). So you see, the gospel is the revelation of the way to eternal life and immortality. The core function of the gospel is to give life and immortality to men from the power of death, as they come to believe in the Finished work of Christ, who is the Savior and the source of eternal Life. Jesus plainly told Martha in John 11 verse 25 and 26 “Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live; And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?”(AMPC)(ref Jn 3:16,36; 5:24; 6:67; 14:6).
This is the conviction (truth) that made the early believers fearless in testifying about the gospel everywhere in the world and holding on to their faith to the end. They chose martyrdom for the sake of the gospel over the temporary pleasures of this life. For they were convinced beyond every doubt that, death to the believer is only a transition into eternal bliss with the Father; to the believer, death is gain! “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”(Philippians 1:21 KJV). “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”(Matthew 22:32 KJV). So everyone who commits his life to Christ through the gospel is delivered from the bondage and the fear of death and its power over us, hallelujah. “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he(Jesus) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”(Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV).
This is the core subject of the gospel; freedom from the fear and power of death into eternal Life with Christ.
Like apostle Paul, this is the number one reason why we are called! “For [the proclaiming of] this [Gospel] I was appointed a herald (preacher) and an apostle (special messenger) and a teacher of the Gentiles.”(2 Timothy 1:11 AMPC). Praise God.
Now, It is very crucial that, in all our enlightenment, we fail not to recognize that, this life on earth is not all that there is to Life. For there’s a world to come(Eph 1:21, Heb 2:5, Heb 6:5) and this world we see today, will come to an end one day(Matt 13:39-40,49, Matt 24:14, 3, Matt 28:20). So whether we live like Methuselah or we die tomorrow, we need to understand that, there is a life that transcends far beyond the physical world 🌎 we see today. This is not some theological theory, this is the truth. Your life doesn’t just end here when you die! There’s a life after death 💀☠️. How prepared are you for that life and your unknown appointment with death from this world?
I wish that no one reading this article would dare try to argue this basic truth with their limited brain 🧠, because just as you cannot tell where you originated from, before you were born into this world by your parents, the same way it is beyond your little human brain or logical reasoning, to fully comprehend where you are going, from this world 🌎. But you see, encoded by God, deep into the spirit(heart) of every human being, is the reality of God’s existence as well as that life after death 💀☠️.
Now, before I continue, let me help my friends who keep lying to themselves daily and keep convincing themselves that, there is no God(the Atheists). Well, the Bible calls these people fools(Psalm 14:1), not as a mere insult, but as a full description of their being. For how can a man claim that there is no God, simply because they cannot perceive Him with their physical eyes 👀 or cannot scientifically proof his existence in a test tube 🧪 or in a laboratory 🔬, but this same atheist turns around to believe that the wind 💨 , which he cannot see exist. The viruses such as Ebola, Coronavirus, the disastrous tsunami 🌊, hurricanes, and so on, which are equally not visible to their eyes, exist because they see their impact on human lives, but for the God who made them, they claim He doesn’t exist. Interestingly, at the time of writing this article, almost the whole world is advised to now put on a nose mask 😷, wash our hands with soap under running water etc to protect ourselves from a virus which we cannot even see (Covid-19), lest we contract this deadly disease and die. How much more can a mortal man deny the existence of his maker and the one who made all the magnificent works he sees all around? Who made the world and set it in motion? Who created human beings and gave them life to live? Just ponder on these my friends atheist, and hopefully you’ll be healed from this foolishness.
Now, the word of God tells us that, “*Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen*.”(Hebrews 11:3 TPT). In other words, “By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that, what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.* (AMP).
So you see, the physical and visible world we see today, is a product of a spiritual(invincible) force and power from an invincible God(Deity). The world was made by the word of God(John 1:1, Ps 33:6).
Make no mistake about it, the things we see(physically) today are just a temporal representation of an eternal and spiritual realm. “*So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.” (2 Corinthians 4:18 AMP). So back to my point to conclude my message to you today. The scripture says; “A GOOD name is better than precious perfume, and the day of death better than the day of one's birth.”(Ecclesiastes 7:1 AMPC). Hence on the occasion of my birthday today, I have chosen to make us all reflect on the day of our death individually, so that we will incline our hearts unto wisdom, for this is far better. What happens between the day of our birth to the day we die is very critical to where we’re prepared to spend our eternity. Our lives on earth is but an investment into our eternal destiny. How prepared are you for this day? What investment are you making for your eternity? Who have you committed your life to? What are you doing with your life here on earth?One good news is, the Saints of God doesn’t die prematurely, they only leave to be with the Lord when their assignment on earth is over just like Jesus Christ, Apostle Paul and the rest.
Ponder on these things and make the wisest decision today with your life before it is too late.
